Dr. Gilchrist and Staff

Dr. Gilchrist lived the majority of his childhood in South Scottsdale, having attended both Mohave Grade School and Saguaro High School. Following High School Dr. Gilchrist joined the Military and served four years in the United States Marine Corps. With an honorable discharge and full time served Dr. Gilchrist started his college career.He first attended Scottsdale Community College for two years. It was at SCC that he realized his calling was to become a veterinarian. He then moved to Florida for a year and took courses at Indian River Community College. While in Florida he worked for a veterinarian as a technician and maintained the boarding facility. After the year in Florida he moved to Colorado to attend Colorado State University and to continue his pursuit to become a veterinarian. He worked for a dairy taking care of the calves and assisted at an equine boarding facility. He then came home to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. After finishing up at ASU he left for veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He spent a little over three years at Ross. He then attended Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2003.Dr. Gilchrist started his veterinary career in a small town called Fishkill, New York where he worked at Companion Animal Hospital. It was a small animal two doctor practice. He worked there for a year and a half. After that he came back home to Arizona and has been here ever since. He worked at Ingleside Animal Hospital for more than seven years prior to starting the house-call practice Vet To You LLC.
Alex Hintz, Veterinary Assistant, was born in Calgary Alberta, Canada and moved to Arizona in 1993. In grade school, Alex discovered his affinity for animals while volunteering for his mother at her grooming shops. Alex spent most of his childhood in Arizona. He attended the Scottsdale Unified School district all the way to arcadia high school. While in high school Alex started his first job, working for Ingleside Animal Hospital as a member of the kennel staff. It was during this time he truly found his love for animals. During his senior year of high school, he was presented with an opportunity to begin working as a veterinary technician. He completed his high school education online and graduated from Pinnacle online high school while interning as a veterinary assistant. It was during this time he went through onsite technician training as well as numerous credited elective courses that were available to him.These credited elective courses covered a wide range of subjects such as: emergency medical training, multiple canine and feline diseases, laboratory and x-ray procedures to name a few. He was also chosen to attend a dental seminar hosted by Dr. Tony M. Woodward D.V.M. in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Alex has worked with Dr. Gilchrist for the last 6 years. He is an essential component of the Vet To You team.
